Welcome to Brooklands in the Lake District. Brooklands is a traditional guest house built in the local Lakeland stone at the end of the 19th Century. Karen and Andy overtook Brooklands in 2000, and have been running it ever since. This family-run guest house is set in a rural location on the outskirts of Bowness Village and the waters edge of Lake Windermere. Brooklands has fine views over the fells of the Lake District National Park and Windermere Lake itself.

Ideal location to explore Windermere and nearby attractions. Very friendly and welcoming hosts. We were even given a good brief about the place to visit. Quiet and comfortable accommodation with facilities as mentioned in the brochure.

Two words...A Sanctuary On arrival, the setting for Brooklands was breath taking. Woodlands and mountains were the view from my window...absolutely stunning. My plan for the bank holiday was to recharge my batteries, take a step back from my life and breathe. Travelling on my own, I wanted to stay somewhere that was traditional, homely and safe. Brooklands was indeed everything I wanted and more. Karen and Andy were the perfect hosts, made me feel straight at home from the moment I got there. Extremely friendly and approachable, and they made you feel incredibley welcome. The breakfasts were delicious...Karen makes the most perfect poached eggs so make sure you sample them when you visit. For me Brooklands was a home from home, and I have already booked again for next year. It really was the sanctuary I needed. And I can't wait to return next year. Thank you Karen and Andy I've had an extremely memorable weekend xxx

Enjoyed a great overnight stay here. Karen and Andy are the very friendly and helpful owners who make you feel very welcome the whole stay. Very comfortable night with a great breakfast in the morning. Definitely a home from home.

Very cute little guest house with amazing hosts! They were both very chatty and took an interest in you and what you were doing. Amazing service at breakfast and it was nice food, I also liked how they try and minimise waste by pre ordering hot food. Tea and coffee in the room and a lovely modern bathroom. The room was a little small but perfectly fine for a base. The best was very comfy!!

Really nice place. The rooms were clean and we had a view of Windermere. Just enough out of the centre of Bowness and close to the ferry. I will be booking again.
